Fraction Simplifier

Reduce signed integer fractions to lowest terms and convert improper fractions to mixed numbers with exact arithmetic in your browser.

How to simplify a fraction

  1. Enter a numerator and denominator separated by a slash.
  2. Read the reduced fraction, mixed number, and common factor removed.
  3. Copy the result for your notes.

Example: -84 / 30

Both integers share a greatest common divisor of 6. Dividing both by 6 gives -14/5, or the mixed number -2 4/5. The minus sign applies to the entire mixed number.

Signs, zero, and exact results

A negative denominator moves its sign to the numerator. Zero reduces to 0/1; a zero denominator is invalid. Integer inputs can contain up to 200 digits each. Decimals, commas, and exponent notation are not accepted. BigInt arithmetic avoids floating-point rounding.
